DREAMING STATEMENT

.

“I have come so that they may have the life and have it to the full”

(John 10:10)

.

St Mary’s Primary School’s Vision is to provide
the opportunities and experiences for the whole school,
students, parents and staff,
working together in a Christ-centred, learning community
to become academically,
physically, socially and spiritually empowered
to have the best possible life they can.
.

Our Dreaming Statement is embodied in our school logo which was designed at the end of 1992 by a parent, Mr Eddie Scanlon. Like Martin Luther King’s famous speech, we have a dream that, one day all God’s children will walk hand in hand, regardless of race or family background.

In all endeavours we expect all children to do their best.

St Mary's Primary School Bowraville in the Nambucca Parish is the only school in the Lismore Diocese

with a predominantly Indigenous school population.

96% of the school's students are young Gumbaynggirr people.

St Mary's school student population is around 50 students. With the support of the Lismore Catholic Education Office, we offer small classes to develop a sense of intimacy and trust.

Indigenous and Non Indigenous staff work as a united team

to provide an educationally sound environment

where reconciliation in action is clearly evident.
